Bek began his legal career at the Securities and Capital Markets and Investment Management groups at Borden Ladner Gervais LLP, one of the largest Canadian law firms.

He later served in the Investment Management Division of the Ontario Securities Commission. His most recent in-house role was as Senior Legal Counsel at a global asset management firm, where he supported the company's day-to-day operations, and also provided transactional support.

Bek brings a wealth of legal knowledge and expertise in the intersection of finance and technology.

Bekhzod (Bek) Nazarov

Bek's unique blend of experience spans over a decade in law firm, regulatory, and in-house settings. He holds an LLM from Harvard Law School and is admitted to the bar in both New York (2009) and Ontario (2011).

In his free time, Bek enjoys watching favourite NBA matches with his kids and exploring international culinary traditions, often hosting gourmet meals inspired by recipes from around the world.

As a former software engineer, Bek has been deeply interested in blockchain and digital assets. Leveraging his technical background and legal acumen, Bek guides clients through the intricacies of law and regulation, providing clear solutions to complex and novel issues.

Corporate and M&A

Bek assists technology companies with negotiations of complex SaaS, licensing and technology contracts, provides support on share purchases, advises on corporate governance and shareholder agreements.

Capital Raising

He supports startups through seed, Series A/B/C rounds, and crowdfunding activities.

Investment Funds

Bek has experience with various types of funds including mutual and alternative funds, pooled funds, private equity, VC funds.

Securities Laws

Bek provides advisory services to companies, dealers, fund managers, and portfolio managers on product development, marketing, compliance, and operations. He also assists in communicating with securities regulators and preparing exemptive relief applications.

Digital Assets

Bek offers guidance on digital assets taxonomy and treatment, supports companies and digital asset platforms in their operations and compliance with laws.
